The service, also referred to as Seva, which is conducted by the temple priests, commences at 19:30. The others who are present in the ceremony are free to offer a helping hand by, among others, chanting the mantra and burning incense, which are important elements of the decree.
  • Lamps are presented as an offering to a god as a part of the devotional service called Deepa Aradhana. The temple priests initiate the seva, or the evening service, at seven in the evening. Singing of a mantra and illumination of a lamp are equally acceptable modes of completing your duty of participating in the seva.
  • A procession of an idol of the god accompanied by a parade is transported through the streets in a palanquin, and it is called Pallaki Seva. At about nine o’clock in the evening, the priests of the temple began the seva. In order to demonstrate their faith, devotees are even urged to take part in the seva by chanting mantras, offering flowers, and bearing the palanquin.
