Shiv Puran Puja is a sacred Vedic ritual where we recite the Shiv Purana to invoke Lord Shiva’s blessings. It’s dedicated to one of the eighteen major Puranas, telling the glory and teachings of Shiva.

  • Gather Materials: Prepare puja items including flowers, incense sticks, diya, fruits, milk, honey, water, sandalwood paste, and a copy of the Shiv Puran.
  • Invocation: Begin with a prayer to Lord Ganesha to eliminate obstacles, then invoke Lord Shiva’s blessings with mantras like “Om Namah Shivaya.”
  • Abhishekam: Bathe the Shivlinga with water, milk, honey, curd, and ghee while reciting Shiva mantras.
  • Recitation: Read the Shiv Puran passages, chanting specific chapters or performing a complete recitation across multiple days.
  • Offerings: Present bel leaves, flowers, and fruits while lighting incense sticks with devotion and focus.
  • Aarti and Conclusion: Conclude with aarti, distribute prasad, and sit in silent meditation to absorb the spiritual energy.
