Magh Gupt Navratri 2025: Date

According to the Hindu Vedic calendar, Pratipada Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Magh month will start on 29 January 2025 at 6.05 pm which will end on January 30, 2025, at 4:10 pm.

According to this, Magh Gupt Navratri 2025 will start on Thursday, 30th January. Gupt Navratri will end on Friday, 7 February 2025.

What is Magh Gupt Navratri 2025?

In a year, four Navratri are celebrated in India. These Navratris fall in Chaitra, Ashwin, Ashadh, and Magh months.

Navratri that falls during Magh month is known as Magh Gupta Navratri. The Kalash Sthapna is done on the first day of Navratri.

Maa Durga is worshipped while doing Kalash Sthapana. In Magh Gupt Navratri 2025, there is a provision to worship nine forms of Mother Adi Shakti secretly.

In such a situation, devotees will get a total time of 1 hour 21 minutes for Ghatasthapana.

Apart from this, Abhijeet Muhurat of Ghat Sthapana will be from 12.13 pm to 12.56 pm. Here, devotees will get 43 minutes.

Significance of Magh Gupt Navratri 2025

It is believed that householders do not celebrate Gupt Navratri; it is only for those who believe in Tantra Sadhna and Vashikaran.

Magh Gupt Navratri 2025: Puja Vidhi

Thirty-two different names of the Goddess are worshipped during Gupt Navratri.

During this Navratri, devotees chant special mantras and worship different forms of Goddess Durga.

Below is the puja vidhi of Magh Gupt Navratri:

• On the day of Magh Gupt Navratri, get up early in the morning, take a bath, and wear clean clothes.
• Collect the above-mentioned puja materials.  Dress Goddess Durga and wrap a cloth around it.
• Sow barley seeds in an earthen pot and sprinkle water daily till Navami.
• Install the Kalash at the auspicious time as per the complete method.
• Fill the Kalash with Ganga water, put mango leaves in the mouth of the pot, and place a coconut on it.
• Wrap the Kalash with red cloth and tie it with the help of Kalava.
• Now, keep it near the earthen pot. Perform Panchopchara Puja with flowers, camphor, incense sticks, flame, etc.
• Chant the mantras of Maa Durga and the mantras of the 10 Mahavidyas for nine days.
• Chant the mantra “Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Shaktirupen Sansthita, Namastesyai Namastesyai Namastesyai Namo Namah.” as much as possible.
• While performing the sadhana of Maa Durga, pray for happiness and prosperity in life.
• On the eighth or ninth day, after worshipping the mother goddess, worship nine girls, feed them, wash their feet, and give them some gifts or Dakshina.
• On the last day of Gupt Navratri, after Durga Puja, immerse the pot and perform the Aarti of the Mother Goddess, offer flowers and whole rice, and lift the Kalash from the bed.

Things to do during Magh Gupt Navratri 2025

Things to avoid during Magh Gupt Navratri 2025

• The 9 days of Magh Gupt Navratri are very sacred. During this period, one should not consume meat, alcohol, garlic, onion, and other tamasic types of food. Those who do not follow these things have to face the wrath of Mother Bhagwati.
• According to the puja method, cutting hair, beard, and nails is considered prohibited during these 9 days.
• In the next 9 days of Gupt Navratri, don’t have evil thoughts. Do not get angry. Don’t lie. Don’t fight with anybody. And do not criticize anybody.
• Do not wake up late on the day of Magha Navratri, and don’t let laziness overcome you.

• The nine days of Maa Devi are considered very sacred. During these days, the devotee should not live in filth. Maa Devi becomes angry with those who do not maintain cleanliness during this period, and their life remains full of troubles.
• If you are fasting for 9 days, then you should not consume salt during this period.
• The first thing to be kept in mind is that if you have resolved to worship Maa Bhavani for 9 days during Gupt Navratri, do not leave her worship in between. It becomes a sin to do so. It is a must to perform the puja regularly for the entire 9 days.
