Puja Details
Mahalakshmi Puja is a sacred ritual dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu and the embodiment of wealth, prosperity, beauty, and good fortune. Devotees perform this puja to invite her blessings into their homes and lives, seeking financial security, success, and lasting happiness.
According to the Puranas, Goddess Lakshmi emerged from the Samudra Manthan (churning of the cosmic ocean), seated on a lotus and bringing with her abundance for the entire universe.
She is worshipped in eight forms, the Ashta Lakshmi, each representing a different kind of wealth, including riches, grain, courage, knowledge, progeny, and victory.
The goddess is believed to reside where there is cleanliness, devotion, and gratitude. Performing Mahalakshmi Puja with sincerity purifies the surroundings and the mind, creating a welcoming space for her grace.
This puja is especially auspicious on Fridays, Purnima, Sharad Purnima, Diwali, and during the Margashirsha month. However, it can be performed on any day when one seeks relief from financial difficulties or wishes to begin a new venture with divine blessings.

Significance of Mahalakshmi Puja
Goddess Mahalakshmi is revered as the Shakti who sustains the universe. Her blessings are not limited to material wealth; they also bring inner contentment, good health, and harmonious relationships. Worshipping her is believed to bring Dhana (wealth), Dhanya (food grains), Dhairya (courage), and Saubhagya (good fortune).
Chanting the Shri Suktam, an ancient hymn from the Rig Veda, is considered one of the most powerful ways to invoke her presence. The offering of lotus seeds in the havan is said to please the goddess and open new pathways for prosperity.
Many families perform this puja before starting a business, buying property, or at the beginning of a financial year to ensure steady growth and protection from losses.
