Navami, the ninth and final day of Navratri, holds special significance as it marks the culmination of nine days of devotion to Goddess Durga. This day is dedicated to Mahagauri and Siddhidatri, the final forms of the Navadurga, and is observed with Kanya Pujan, Havan, and concluding prayers.

Kanya Pujan involves washing the feet of young girls (typically aged 2-10), offering them a red chunri, bangles, and a sacred meal, honouring them as living representations of the goddess herself. This ritual is believed to bring the fulfilment of wishes and the blessings of the Devi in her most benevolent form.

The day is also marked by a Havan, where sacred fire offerings are made with mantras to purify the home and formally conclude the Navratri vrat. For those who have observed fasting throughout the nine days, Navami marks the day their vrat (fast) comes to an end, either on this day or the following day (Dashami), depending on family tradition.
