For Hindus in India, Durga Puja is very important. Durga, who was created when Parvati, Lakshmi, and Saraswati joined their powers, stands out among the many respected gods. People enjoy the festival of Durga Puja with great joy to honour Goddess Durga and ask for her blessing.

Since the goddess Durga beat the demon Mahisasur, this five-day event from the Indian subcontinent celebrates the success of good over evil.

Hindu legend says that Goddess Durga descends to earth during Navratri to bless her followers. Even though they come from different places, Durga Puja and Navratri Puja share the theme that light wins over darkness.

The Ratha Yantra is part of the nine-day Durga puja celebration in West Bengal, which is filled with great joy. In both Durga puja and Navratri, the goddess Durga drove away darkness and won the battle between good and evil. In eastern India, the holiday is very important, and people eat and fast during it.

During Durga puja, flowers and lights are placed on many different stages, as well as pandals. Dances, cultural events, and food preparation are all important parts of the festival.

Vedic Reference: The marriage ceremony is primarily based on the Vivaha Sukta from the Rigveda (Book 10, Hymn 85), which describes the divine marriage of Surya (daughter of the Sun) and is considered the prototype of all Hindu marriages.
